Prince George, B.C. – Premier Christy Clark will be in Prince George next week to officially open the COFI convention.
“The COFI convention is the premier forest sector event in Western Canada, and Premier Clark’s attendance is a signal that the government of B.C. continues to put a high priority on the importance of the forest industry to B.C.’s economy,” said John Allan, COFI’s president and CEO.
This will be the first time in three years that the convention has taken place as it took a hiatus during the economic downturn that hit in the fall of 2008.
The convention is set for Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th at the Prince George Civic Centre and will focus on opportunities for forest industry recovery, transformation and renewal as it looks at new emerging markets for forest industry products.
