The Emergency Services Centre in Nakusp, British Columbia is the first municipal building in British Columbia to be completed under the province’s Wood First Act, which requires provincially-funded projects to use wood as the primary building material.

Nakusp also has its own Wood First resolution.

The Emergency Services Centre features a fire hall, search and rescue centre, ambulance station and regional training centre. Construction material was secured and milled through a local community forest company.
