A few comments, suggestions, and ideas that may be of interest to industry…
As discussed in the last few issues, I have been focusing on market opportunities for BC manufacturers in the Sierra Nevada region with particular emphasis on Lake Tahoe. The challenge in creating market share in any region is to get your products in front of the key buyers and decision makers in that region. I have recently uncovered an opportunity for companies to do just that: Rubicon Collection.
The Rubicon collection is a designer showroom in Tahoe City, situated on the waterfront of beautiful Lake Tahoe. The showroom has been a fixture of the architect and design community of Tahoe for the last decade. It is headed up by award winning interior designer, Catherine Mcphee. The Rubicon showroom is trend-setting and highlights the latest in “Mountain Design” for the multi-million dollar vacation homes and resort developments that it serves.
In the desire to stay ahead of the curve, the showroom will soon be undergoing an extensive renovation and has expressed interest in working with BC manufacturers and suppliers. In particular they are interested in suppliers of interior finishings including doors, windows, flooring, cabinetry, interior trim, architectural millwork, furniture, and accessories. They are currently working out the details, but are looking to manufacturers to commit to a 1 year agreement to provide display and support materials to the showroom. They are planning to host a number of high profile events that will attract the top architect developer and design professionals in the region. The showroom will also be open year-round drawing a select high-end cliental from throughout Lake Tahoe and the San Francisco Bay area who commonly own these vacation homes.
For more information on this opportunity visit their website at www.rubiconcollection.com or contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those manufacturers and suppliers of building and construction products, I recommend that you look at the main building products distributor in the region “Truckee Tahoe Lumber Co” (TTLC) located in the town of Truckee. TTLC is the main supplier to the residential and commercial builders throughout Lake Tahoe. They have been around for over 60 years and carry a wide supply of exterior building and construction products. If your products commonly go through a builder’s yard, then I suggest you review their website at www.ttlco.com
Finally remember that we are planning a trade event and mission to this region tentatively scheduled for May 12-14, 2011. More information will be provided in the next few weeks; If this is of interest to you, I suggest you contact me at email@example.com.
