The Bridges Project: Getting the right log, to the right place, at the right time

The Bridges Project, is an initiative supported by a group of partners working to create an interactive website that will connect buyers and sellers of forest products. This website will provide up to date information on current and future availability of wood fibre from community forests and woodlot licences. Quick and easy access to this information is what the industry needs to develop relationships that will stimulate new opportunities to develop durable and sustainable economic activities. With better exchange of information we can get the right log/lumber, to the right place, at the right time.

Throughout the first phase, the project management team, who is made up of people working in the forest industry, will be visiting over 10 locations throughout BC to meet with forestry communities. These discussions will assist them in creating a concept for a robust and easy to use website that will link buyers and sellers to share information. Whether they are planning for the future or looking to buy or sell now, this new website will be able to point the user in the right direction.
