Green Building Rating Systems and How They Relate to Wood

This study examines the world’s major green building rating and certification systems in order to evaluate their relationships with wood and to gain a better understanding of what opportunities may be available for promoting wood as a green building product. Eleven rating systems were analyzed, including: BREEAM, Built Green TM, CASBEE®, Green GlobesTM, Green Star, LEED®, the Living Building Challenge, NAHB Model Green Home Guidelines, and the SB Tool. With all the various applications, a total of 18 systems were included in the study.
